glossed magazine

Glossed Magazine is a beauty magazine that includes sections on the best makeup, skincare, and the latest trends. My love of makeup and all things beauty inspired this project. Due to my comfort in the subject, I wanted to do something different visually from other pieces of work I have done previously, with this magazine being mostly type and image focused. I created a table of contents as well as two inner spreads to help flesh out the magazine and bring it to life. Bright, poppy colors and star patterns helped ground the magazine’s style.

Logo Development

The logo was made by taking a typeface and distorting it to make it seem fresh and fun. I chose the name Glossed because one of my favorite makeup looks is a very dewy and glossy face. The magazine features makeup artist Raoúl Alejandre, a recent and upcoming runaway and celebrity makeup artist who Vogue featured. His work and use of soft but bold colors inspired me during the brainstorming process. I decided to incorporate a lot of gradients as well to reflect his use of blending in his makeup process.
